The person who said, "no", to lightning protection, may not recall or even still be an employee of your customer after sensitive equipment has been damaged.

People don't buy life insurance after they die....TVSS shouldn't be kept a secret from them until they have sustained avoidable expenses as a result of their lack of awareness. After all, it is you they have confided in as the most knowledgeable source for such information...otherwise, they would have installed it themselves or used your competitor.

Surge and Lightning Protection 

This is to certify that on _____________________2009, I was informed of the need and benefits in protecting my equipment through the recommended use of lightning / surge suppression devices. The protection would consist of incorporation of any or all of the following: 

1. AC protection in a plug-in or hard-wired fashion

2. Phone line protectors for dialers and monitored systems

3. Coaxial protectors for CCTV, MUXs, Cameras, Recorders

4. Loop and data circuit protection for all low voltage wiring

In consideration of the above-recommended protection I have decided to decline this opportunity to have surge suppression devices installed. I understand that utility “spikes” or surges created by lightning strikes will not be covered under warranty and assume full responsibility for the consequences of not having the above outlined devices installed on premises. I also agree to hold the installing company free of obligation in accordance with my decision to decline the recommended protection devices.
